508RC1 is now running on my mill with Acorn.
- Wizard will not generate a homing file
- Setup for pairing is missing the squarig options
- Wizard for VCP is with a typo, m75.mac instead od m57.mac
Otherwise it runs well so far

Forget the Homing, was my fault, wrong selection in the Wizard
Acorn6 lathe 508RC1 is running now also, no problems.

Re: Centroid CNC12 v5.08 RC release candidate is now available for testing.
I'm looking for a bit of clarification on the new VCP options stated in the release notes, namely "switching" for buttons. What I'm trying, is a button that switches on/off. I've added the button attribute of... <button row="Y" column="X" group=”group_name”></button>, the button location line of... <button row="1" column="5" group="group_name">button_name</button>, and the buttons with the .xml in the respective folder.
Upon launching CNC12 v5.08rc, I get the two attached errors. After "OK" to each them, the button shows up and works just fine. Is there something missing in the "Attributes" line that is stated on page 3 of the release notes? Perhaps the path like other groups contain? If that's the case, what is the format for for adding the path line along with the button attribute? Or maybe I'm missing something else.

Re: Centroid CNC12 v5.08 RC release candidate is now available for testing.
This was just a quick test of some of the new "group" stuff, described in the release notes, on my production machine whilst waiting for lacquer to dry earlier today. It wasn't a permanent change for any real need. Per the errors though, there were no typos or missing files, xml file was present as well. I'll revisit and recreate it later in the week.
I think I may be misinterpreting the notes by thinking that the switching button feature could also be used for single VCP buttons, when perhaps it's meant just for button groups such as the feed/rapid override situation. There's no mention of the needed <path>C:\cncm\resources\vcp\images\some_button.svg</path> line for buttons in the notes, and maybe that's what is missing and throwing the errors with my test.

Re: Centroid CNC12 v5.08 RC release candidate is now available for testing.
Here's an example of switching between two buttons, the blue_blank_button and air_blow, using the acorn_plasma_vcp_skin
In the skin itself, create the two buttons with distinct group names. These buttons will occupy the same space.
<button row="7" column="2" group="group_name">blue_blank_button</button>
<button row="7" column="2" group="group_name_2">air_blow</button>
Also in the skin, create the "hide group" node so that the air_blow doesn't display on load
<hide_group>
<group>group_name_2</group>
</hide_group>
In the blue_blank_button.xml, add the switch behavior.
<switch>
<remove>group_name</remove>
<add>group_name_2</add>
</switch>
Likewise, in the air_blow.xml, add the switch behavior.
<switch>
<remove>group_name_2</remove>
<add>group_name</add>
</switch>
Now, selecting the blue_blank_button will perform whatever actions it is setup to perform and then switch to the air_blow button.

Thanks ASPeters, I'll give that a try and report back. I had both buttons in the same group with one xml, so I'm guessing that was the problem.

Got it! On/Off for an output works as expected. Only issue would be if you hit reset, and the output turns off, but the button will stay in the ON state. A quick cycle of the button puts it back in order. Not sure if there's any way around that without some PLC edits.
