Re: CNC12 v5.0+ Draft Operator's Manual Mill/Lathe
For switching between imperial and metric, F1 Setup/F3 Config/F1 Contrl then toggle BOTH dro display units and machine units to the desired measurement system.
I've always wished for a single button to toggle between units on the home screen.

... and yet, the Intercon program header has a "Units" field that can be toggled between Inches and Millimeters.
As far as I can tell (and I have not invested the time to test it comprehensively) this was a good idea that was never fully implemented. I advise users to ignore it, and to ensure that it is the same as the default machine units.
The feature should either be completed, so that you really can designate separate units for any individual job file; or that field should be removed from the Intercon header.
This is not really a subject for the manual, except perhaps as a temporary measure (since v5.02 has been released, and Jenna is working to document it as it stands). Until the software is fixed, the manual could perhaps describe this as a developmental feature, and advise that you must always leave the "Units" setting the same as the current machine units.

Would be nice if "CNC Program Codes: G-Codes" table would be with links like the M-Function chapter....

We will be releasing separate router and plasma manuals down the line. These manuals will be more clear regarding router and plasma operation.RogDC wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2023 9:44 pm Will there be a router manual or will the Mill manual be used for the Routers?
If the mill manual will be used for the router, it may be a good idea to have a router/plasma table graphic for the X-Y-Z movements. It may make the X-Y-Z orientation for a gantry machine a little more clear than someone not familiar with a mill.

Hi Uwe,
We do plan on using more hyperlinks throughout the manual. They are super useful! Hyperlinks will likely be added closer to a full release of the manual

Thank you for the insight! Adding a warning in the manual in the meantime does sound like a good idea.cncsnw wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 1:34 pm ... and yet, the Intercon program header has a "Units" field that can be toggled between Inches and Millimeters.

Mill manual Page153
Convert / Create could be removed
screenshots are not good readable if manual is viewed on screen, could be improved, I used Nik Detail Extractor in Photoshop for the examples.

Re: CNC12 v5.0+ Draft Operator's Manual Mill/Lathe
thanks!
fyi.. the intercon header selection for inch/mm has been removed since it did nothing.
and the cnc12 inch metric selections stay as is since one control the DRO display units and the other controls the Control environment units.
some users like to be running a mm program but have the DRO display in inches so this is why it is the way it is.

Thanks Keith, makes sense.
Simple to switch between inch/ metric as Tom mention above or within Intercon setup as I do which achieves same thing
