Some Wizard settings not saving

Post by Sword »

In rev6, I'm seeing the homing choice of "auto/create my own" not saving, and always resetting to "auto/wizard create", and overwriting my custom homing file. This was repeatable upon each opening of the wizard for several times before staying as set.

I've also seen the choice of custom VCP not stick the first time through. Seems like a one off and then it stays.

It also took a few writes to make axis pairing work properly, and yes, the license was applied.

Side note on homing, if you don't pre-set homing direction before choosing to create your own (direction options are grayed out after choosing to create your own), CNC12 uses the direction that is in the Wizard, ignoring what is in the custom homing file. This is not very intuitive, and misleading, since you generally work from top to bottom in each page. Then when you copy over your custom homing file, the direction in the file is not used. The prox backoff direction is wrong then, causing a switch tripped error.

I think I had this same error on 4.82 on a machine I programmed for someone. I thought I was losing my mind as I know I set it to "I will create my own home program, do not overwrite cncm.hom" and yet after a restart it would default back to the wizard generated homing file and overwrite my custom home file. It finally stuck and I thought it was just me.

Keith, does 4.82 have the same homing programming as the new beta?

lots of additions to the wizard in the beta, so bound to have some teething pains.

When I upgraded to 4.82 I had a couple of instances of the wizard not saving settings. Homing and Soft limits where the problems on mine. Saved them when I went back in and put them in again.
Thx

Another setting that keeps reverting is "Custom Tool Change Macro (M6) in use", on the ATC page. I couldn't figure out why my M6 macro kept getting deleted, and noticed that upon each opening of the wizard, the slider is reset to No. I have Enable set to No and None selected for type. Enable set to Yes also gets reset to No. I'm using the Probe App M6 macro.

M6 macro issue fixed.

The "Create my own homing" choice still took a second shot for it to stick, but good after that.

Giving up on the homing direction issue, and just going with it. It must be something that no one else comes across. Probably needs a video. ;)
