C-axis setup with 4.99R6 Acorn and Acorn6 lathe

Post by suntravel »

Manual how I set up C-Axis on my lathe with Acorn6
I also made a benchtest with Acorn

C and Y axis are running as expected with 4.99R6

Maybe there will be sone changes in setup with final version.

At this moment already outdated.

Chris figured out a better M51 macro, with some tweaks now this should work for all configurations.
Waiting for his ok before I post it.

cool. we will integrate this knowledge into a C axis setup page in the Wizard at some point to make it an 'easy button' for C axis configuration.

Not sure if we need a C-Axis page, right now it works with only selecting C in the Axis configuration.

New mfunc51.mac takes care of with encoder or not, if ThirdAxisHome NPN is installed, if VFDZeroSpeed input is used or not

But if C Axis is selected, would be nice that the Wizards sets P93 =145 and generates a C-Axis button on the VCP

One other thing missing is a Alarm Message if spindle is tried to turn on with M51 active. It turns not on (thats good), but if M3 in a program with M51 active, it continues happy with a non rotating spindle.
