Unified Centroid CNC12 v4.99 rev3 BETA for Acorn, AcornSix, Oak, Allin1DC, and MPU11
Unified Centroid CNC12 v4.99 rev3 BETA for Acorn, AcornSix, Oak, Allin1DC, and MPU11 has been publicly released for evaluation and testing. Your feedback is welcome. Please post feedback here.
This is a Free Centroid CNC Software BETA for anyone using the Acorn, AcornSix, Oak, Allin1DC, and MPU11 CNC controller platforms.
- All existing License files work with v4.99
- All features from previous versions of CNC12 are included in v4.99
- Beta’s have count down timers and expire after 120 days. (to remind users to update to the release version when it is available)
Release notes attached.
Acorn and AcornSix users follow the Acorn installation instructions.
https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_di ... ctions.pdf
Oak, Allin1DC,MPU11 users follow software installation instructions in the Oak or Allin1DC install manuals.
As always make sure the CNC PC meets the requirements to run this version of CNC12 software.
A new CNCPC requirement is to update Windows 10/11 to the latest .net framework (the new VCP requires this)
Advice.
- Do not install on a machine used for Production.
- Do not install on a customer of yours machine
- If you have a custom PLC program and are not familiar with PLC programming and compiling do not use this beta
That being said, have no fear! If desired, it is very easy to switch back to the previous version of CNC12 that you were running.
Before the beta install, make a copy of the c:\cncm or cnct directory, save it somewhere safe. After installing the beta if you want to switch back to the previous version of CNC12 that you were running. Simply rename the beta cncm/cnct directory and then copy back the previous cncm or cnct directory. Its that easy.

Re: Unified Centroid CNC12 v4.99 rev3 BETA for Acorn, AcornSix, Oak, Allin1DC, and MPU11
My Lathe with ArconSix and Mill with Acorn are already running with 4.99R3
Installation is easy. My advice, try it out, Centroid needs as much feedback as possible.
On Acorn and Acorn6 it runs well and you have the most advanced software right now for your CNC.
Nice feature are the 25% 50% 75% Feed buttons by default.
Also hitting E-Stop can now force new homing, this could save you (or your workers) from producing crap.
Colorpicker is a nice toy, but I like default blue best.
Acorn lathe will now have C-axis better integrated and you can use Y. So my PP for fusion 360 will now be useful for Acorn also.
I have no worries installing it on a production machine, only have a close eye on the first part, and go...
Enjoy
Uwe

Installed the new version and the issues listed below haven't changed. Chris was able to duplicate them and said that he was working on a fix.
Any updates?
Thanks
Bill
These are the issues I'm having.
1: can't run Auto Square/ Home without Probe connected/ homes when connected. Get Error code 916.
2: can't move axis using MDI without probe connected, get Error code 916.
3: TT-4 will not complete test procedure, page 11, step 10 in the TT-4 manual.
4: Wireless MPG will only move Master & Slave motors (Y axis) together after using the jog button on the VCP, works fine for X & Z Axis.
I wired the control panel using the wiring diagrams that are posted here. The z-axis brake, air solenoid's for the spindle & E-Stop contactor are wired too the 2nd output relay board and run off a separate power supply. AcornSix has it's own power supply.

I'm using the AcornSix.
Here is the most recent report. This is the link to the thread, which details the issues.
https://centroidcncforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=8003.
With the Probe & TT not configured in the wizard, everything seems to work as it should. Is it safe to go ahead and manually set the WCS for a job and run a program?

Here's your answer, but please start a new thread for help requests as this is the beta discussion thread.

Yes, thx for your answer.
But I tought it was a bug in v4.99
Now I see you have to write macro's, assigning that to a aux key from the prefferd button xml
I also tought it was a button to go straight in the Intercon like Uwe did in this video:
Oneshot operations (Youtube video start at 19.15)
sorry

Re: Unified Centroid CNC12 v4.99 rev3 BETA for Acorn, AcornSix, Oak, Allin1DC, and MPU11
After updating to v4.99 and then reverting to the backed up v4.82, I get this message. Everything seems to work if choosing F1 continue, but the message returns upon the next startup. Choosing F10 power off states that a power cycle is required, but again, the message remains after a power cycle.

We added the one shot buttons to beta vcp you shouldn't have to do anything they will just appear and work after a fresh install
