A couple of small issues...

1) The text for drive type and IO preset doesn't place an underscore character correctly.

2) With the new macro option for buttons, the running macro g-code is not displayed as it normally was with a macro assignment via the wizard. For example, my spindle warm up routine would display the g-code, and you could see what stage in the file you were at with a quick look at the screen. With a macro assigned directly in the button .xml, nothing is displayed.

UPDATE- The drive fault issue I was experiencing was a loose terminal connection on axis 4 HLFB line.

First item is the Auto Square PLC inputs change in the Wizard after configuring the BOB. This was also in RC8 but I didn't identify it until I saved the Wizard settings to install RC9 today.

Autosquare settings prior to BOB config with WMPG configured

I will dig further into my machine and see if it is a wiring issue or if it is a SW issue.

R9 is running now on my lathe.

Great that the m3 turning the spindle on feature is back

mfunc50.mac is still missing, without it no way to turn C axis off, so I am using the one from R0

Hardwired MPG on port3 for Z Axis is not working with the WMPG together

I have to set the WMPG to Spin or Feed and then turn the MPG button on the VCP on again.

That is like on my mill with USB BOB very annoying.

I am used to turn the MGP for Z axis and X on the WMPG right next to it without switching anything, that was perfect in R0 and all previous versions.

Now I am happy again :D

Though I do not really know what I am doing in the PLC, I figured out how to make the MPGs work like I prefer, just turning them and the axes are moving without turning knobs and pressing buttons before

Changes are with UWE comment in the PLC so I easily can find what to do on the mill also...

Uwe, with the latest changes to the PLC, the WMPG when active will "disable" the Encoder MPGs. This allows the WMPG to move all axes including the ones that have encoder handwheels. So WMPG must be "off", not on a valid axis to jog to enable the Encoder MPGs.

The assumption is that if you have the WMPG active, you intend to use the WMPG and not the encoder handwheels.

Missing M50 will be addressed next revision, oops.

Thank you Chris for the explanation.

Yes with current PLC WMPG will work for all axes, but I am used to use it in conjunction with the MPGs.

No Problem since I figured out to change it back to my taste.

R9 ist with two cool new updates not mentioned so far.

SSV and FRV are now build in with a smooth since curve variation, top.

Here's something that might be a good idea to look into with the new "Set Part Zero" options. This would be "Jogging Protection" when aligning the axes for touch plates. Currently, one could easily jog at fast jog rate into the plate, or possibly after measuring, into the part or a fixture with an unfortunate axis knob selection on the MPG or button on VCP etc.

Proof of possibility with a finished measure on the plate, but an inadvertent horizontal jog with 100x still set on the MPG.....
