do you have a report from the working installation of cnc12? that way we can compare the two setups?

Hello cncKeith;
I never used the carousel I changed the tools manually. Everything else worked great.
I have the carousel turning Forward and Reverse after working on it all day the tool count sensor is still skipping.
the 8 tool bolts (5/16) that the sensor scans over the tip could be to small ??
I have installed a Homing sensor for tool 1

Question: I will like to keep the 4th axis for a rotary tool, do you suggest to do so or use it to run the carousel as an axis and delete the way I did the Forward and Reverse, wich works ?

Hello All;
I am using CNC12 5.08
Attempting to install the ATC, I run into a problem with the wizard ATC Setup. It lists the tool change y Value, Distance and direction to clear and
Clearing Axis. My Carousel is attached to the gantry (Y Axis), there should no be any value for the y axis otherwise it will have to travel to the y setting to change the tool. How do I input that ??
Distance and direction to clear ?? The z Axis needs to lift to release the tool on tool putback. the x Axis needs to insert tool into the fork.
Clearing Axis ??

you might need a custom PLC program for this carousel.

can you define how the unit works and all the sensors that are on it with detailed photos/drawings

Hello, the Wizard was setup to work with many different styles of ATC, in the case that the carousel was fixed for both X and Y, we move both axes just in case. Technically since your ATC is attached to Y, the Y movement should be harmless, but may not be the most time efficient. It may be a good idea for us to add an option to "Only move clearing axis and Z axis" to the wizard.

Clearing Axis is the axis used to move the tool into the fork style holder, and retrieve the tool from the holder. In this case it would be your X or 1st axis. The Distance / Direction field is to indicate how far the Clearing axis must move to clear the fingers of the holder (Direction is indicated by positive or negative value in relation to the actual tool position). In your case since the carousel is in the negative X direction, you will want a positive number. The Z will always move up to clear from the tools (it goes to Home position and back down to specified tool change height).

The only workaround for the Y moving issue at the moment, is to modify the M6 macro to move only the axes you want or remove the Y moves from the N300 and N500 sections of the "fixedcarouselpositions.cnc" file found under C:\cncm\system\fixedcarousel.

To cncKeith, AllIn1Chris, cncsnw and Gary Campbel:
Thank you for the help The carousel is now running correctly, thank you guys.
however 1 Problem still remains:
The tool counter sensor; The led on the acorn INP2 (and I tried INP38 also) goes on and off has is should but the "Alt I" I/O diagnostic on the computer does not, skips tools counts here and there . Why is this happening, How do i fix this??

This is the video of the Carousel Working, I can't load tool is because if it misses a tool it will crush the carousel
