The Set Range dialog only shows one input field at a time. The starting values are both blank which is why nothing is displayed. Hitting the Down Arrow or the Enter key will tab into the "End" input field.

Change log so I can compare with my list that I didn't get time to update from the last rc?

Re: Acorn Router v5.18 release candidate #3 is now available for download
Notes
- only changes from RC2 have been in the G code backplot area related to showing the travel limits box and current spindle location in the correct location for all types of machine setups.
- all NON show stopper bugs will be fixed in v5.2. (and all new features of course will be slated for v5.2)
- if there are any show stopper bugs in RC3 we will fix make an v5.18 RC4
thanks for your testing efforts and reporting back it really helps!

Re: Acorn Router v5.18 release candidate #3 is now available for download
Identified a couple of issues
Touch Plate - machine set up to use Avid Touch plate. In past I have utilized ToolTouchOffDetect and ToolTouchOffTriggered for the avid touch plate. This is how I configured my inputs on Acorn inputs IN6 and IN7
When utilizing the Centroid Part Zero Touch Plate, I received an error that the Touch Plate Inputs were not configured properly. I configured the IN6/IN7 inputs to Touch Plate.
I made it past the Touch plate input error and was able to start testing the touch plate functions.
I also have the Touch Plate to raise 4" above the plate after Z so I can install the dust boot.
What I observed was Z would probe first, then raise to 4" above the touch plate, then attempt to do the side touch plate probe.
Then I tried to use Swissi's Probe App and it did not like the Touch Plate input configuration. Set it IN6/IN7 back to Tool Touch Off.... ( Note I have not tested this with CHIPS).
Recommendations for the Touch Plate -
I then attempted to run a calibration test and graph it and noticed what appeared to be the Z axis envelope if I am understanding the work bounding box not reflecting Part Z zero correctly.( Circle Diamond Square attached )
I had zero'd the part from the face of the 3/4" MDF.
If the orange intersecting lines with the orange orb are X-Y zero, it is showing my work piece at the top of my work envelope, not on the machine table. I would expect this to show the part on top of the machine table with X-Y-Z zero .75" above the work envelope or at part X-Y-Z zero on the material face, not elevated above the table. If I had the part to zero on the machine bed ( g-code would need to be modified ), then I would expect the X-Y-Z Zero to be at the machine bed just underneath the material and tool paths elevated above the work envelope accordingly.
My router is an Avid with 10" X gantry ( standard order is 8", 12'" is an option ) with a 12" Z-Axis.
With the spoil board I have approximately +/- 9" of Z gantry clearance. My Z axis limits are set up to 14.875" so that I am able to clear a 9" work piece with a tool in the spindle and also cut on a vertical table below the machine bed. I'm not sure how this would be reflected accurately with the current Wizard settings or if it matters, but may be a consideration for future graphing updates.
I Suspect the graphing anomaly is related to how the machine is configured for ATC with tool offsets from Z0.

Recommendations for the Touch Plate -
- Allow the touch plate and tool touch off inputs acceptable inputs or note the requirement during the wizard.
- Clarification needs to be made in the wizard for the touch plate settings and what each setting does.
- Add feature to raise Z above touch plate after setting X-Y-Z zero to install dust boot
- User Manual ( or create a detailed technical bulletin ) should go in depth on setup function and operation for the touch plate

Is RC3 and RC4 close enough to put a report from 3 into 4?

never use restore report when using beta software. we could have change a parameter from 3 to 4 and the report would be putting the old info in the new install of cnc12.Ken Rychlik wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2024 8:39 am Is RC3 and RC4 close enough to put a report from 3 into 4?
