CNC12 TOOL SETUP
I have a lot of trouble with the procedure in the tool setup because I have worked with Fanuc, Heidenhain and Siemens controls. I got it to work, but it's neither logical nor intuitive.
I have worked with external tool measuring machines as well as with internal tool measuring devices.
Z reference was always the spindle nose without tool holder. Z reference should now have been -229.1009 (G53), but -113.2923 was saved as a reference.
I also see the fact that the length value of a tool is only active when you call up G43 H and the tool number via mdi as a mistake.

Re: CNC12 TOOL SETUP
I have P#3 = 6 (Z ref=Z home and keeps H active after setup a tool)
Tool setup with a Z Finder, easy and fast.
Fanuc or Siemens are not a bit faster in setting up tools

Re: CNC12 TOOL SETUP
Since there are often questions about this, I will make a video how it works for me...

Re: CNC12 TOOL SETUP
This is not the best nor the most logical way to measure tools. I prefer the method, tool spindle is empty reference. Each tool is now longer than the reference and a plus value. This has the advantage that you can check the length of each tool with a depth gauge. This method works in CNC12 and also in the Probe app. In CNC 12, however, the reference length is displayed incorrectly, but it works.

This works with HSK toolholders, but not so precise with BT or SK style tool holding...Houseman303 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2024 1:08 am This is not the best nor the most logical way to measure tools. Re: CNC12 TOOL SETUP
never had any problems with Sk30, iso30, Sk40 or Sk50. The tool presetting device is no different.suntravel wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2024 4:13 amThis works with HSK toolholders, but not so precise with BT or SK style tool holding...Houseman303 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2024 1:08 am This is not the best nor the most logical way to measure tools. the reference length is displayed incorrectly ? please explain what you mean by this.Houseman303 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2024 1:08 am This is not the best nor the most logical way to measure tools. using the reference tool method.
reference tool Height offset = 0
are you mixing methods and creating your own?
