thanks for the feedback and kind words.

1 Had to find the functions for the 2 out grey tool change inputs for wizard and unhide them. < ok these were hidden since we dont' have an ATC menu up and running in the Wizard yet, these are in place in anticipation of Wizard support>
2 this may be a feature request. Can home all eliminate c axis and use the z index from spin encoder for c home? using switches on one input for z,x,y, is great if i can set c on another input using a prox sensor for c home. at the least. best would have zri for c if its available. < all you need to do is write you own home program :D homeall and other home related inputs are designed for the 99% cases, the rest of the 1% can use the tools we provide to customize the home program so suit the application, see Centroid's Macro programming guide for more info>
3 c drive enable ,brake release/clutch output plc logic that disables spindle analog control, I have a separate servo for c. < should have this in next rev (rev4). we will eventually create a 'canned' C axis setup and try to satisfy most applications but, for now its up to the installer/user to config the C axis to suit the application with the free cnc tools we provide, (Macro Programming and or PLC programming etc)>
4 y axis and c axis in intercon is missing in my version. I see in the manual that options should reflect available axis according to parameters set. < no plans to add C axis and Y axis programming to Lathe intercon at the moment. Hopefully in 2023 we will do a big rewrite of Intercon Lathe and at that point will entertain all suggestions for feature additions. >

otherwise, having done several retros and years with mach3/4 this is my first experience with centroid, is is much more finished and professional... I love what you guys have made with the acorn, i bought the 4 1 month before the six came out(bad timing) and that is the next upgrade so I can run live tooling with ac servos for rigid taping on the y heads.

I found this post here yesterday
I might want to buy an acorn six.But test first.

This here was great to try if y movement in acorn is possible in turning mode.
I have tried very complicated workpieces.Millturn Parts with live tools C Axis or C and Y Axis.
I program that with Fusion and by hand.(only simulate in the Centroid Software)
The result was good

Then I tried the new Centroid software with a Sub spindle. This is also possible without any problems.
I also program that with Fusion and by hand.
Only it is necessary to program from positive not negative.
I think running a sub spindle machine would require
an M command to flip the coordinates.
I haven't found out if this exists?

The next thing I tested was the Axis pairing for using a Y axis on a lathe with a Y axis.
Here I found a few things that would not work well on a real cnc lathe with a Y axis.
short explanation
A Y axis on a cnc lathe such as a Haas works with two axes that move in opposite directions.
One axis moves towards the workpiece, the other away from the workpiece in the same time.
So the maachine overcomes away in Y.You can calculate how much the axes have to move to drive Y.
To drive the x axis you need to control one of the two x axes
that would be just the x axis.
To control the Y axis you need both X axes together.
I've tried it but haven't found a way to make it work.
Maybe you need a costum PLC.But I have no idea about PLC.
Or it only works with the Acorn six

You notice that I have tested a lot.
The interface in Centroid has become great.
Changing colors is great.
I don't find the small cycles so nice in the starting field.
I think it would be better to have an extra page with pictures for all cycles.
But that's one thing, everyone finds different things beautiful.

I like the new software you can work well with it and that's
all that matters.

But I have to tell you something about what happened to me when I wanted to reset the software to 4.8, but
I will write something about that in the next post.
thank you for your attention

Best regards Stephen

So I tested yesterday 7 hours
G70-76 and G84 all that stuff and Fusion to it.....
Then I wanted to go back to installing 4.8 because
this program is only a demo and will only run for 20 days.

So I uninstalled the 4.99.That worked great.
Then I deleted the CNC folder in the c: drive.
Then I installed 4.8. When it was done I opened it.
It loaded and then went to the message not to turn off the power.
I then waited 10 minutes but it didn't do anything.
I then pressed CTRL ALT DELETE after 15 minutes
and ended the program via Task power off the Pc and than the Acorn.
Restarting the pc didn't do anything.
My centroid won't start anymore

Today I tried the following:
new installation of windows

new installation as in this video

the ping test

this yesterday and today

Then I tried many things from the forum but the ping test doesn't work.
I don't know what to do anymore.
Could it be that my Acorn has lost its data?
Do you have a tip?
thank you for your help

best regards, stephan

I found the solution myself
Debricking was key.
I apologize but my English is so bad that
I thought I'd try to find a solution in the forum
In the future I'll look for the problem for 2 days before I ask for help
Sorry

Glad you got it sorted out Stephan, I was thinking it was a networking issue and never thought you would have bricked the board. Thankfully I have not bricked a board yet, hopefully I never will. I am however looking forward to the new 5.0 software when it becomes available.

i understood all but how-to access the z input on the spindle encoder for the c home input .
one way...
does the drive being used have marker pulse output? some drives have index pulse (aka marker pulse) output to a output that you can then wire into the Acorn input (aks Zri) and write home program looking for this input. as covered in the macro programming guide here. https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_di ... amming.pdf

or if you have CNC12 setup to use home or reference in control config.. then M92 / C will look for the home input OR the marker pulse from the encoder port assigned as the spindle (in AcornSix, Oak, Allin1DC, MPU11)

After some time testing v4.99 beta rev3 we have found.

- Plasma is broken. so don't use v4.99 rev3 with plasma
- Acorn Axis pairing is broken so don't use v4.99 rev3 with a machine that has software paired axes. (AcornSix is working)

axis pairing in Acorn has been fixed, still working on fixes for plasma and then we will release a v4.99 rev4
