Why after tool accepted Z limit tripped?

Post by Black Forest »

Every time I try to run the attached file NC 1070 All goes well until I press cycle start when it tells me to press cycle start when the insert tool 2 comes up. I press cycle start and the spindle starts for 1 second and then the Z home/limit is tripped and the program cancels. I compared it to another program that I tried after this problem showed up and that program runs fine. It seems for some reason I am either too close to the limit or the axis is moving in the wrong direction. I will attach a file that works and the one that doesn't. I have been trying to sort this out for two hours. Really I tried to figure out what was wrong so I could learn but it hasn't worked.

I would like the program to start further away from Z0. Have the tool check not go to Z0 but stay off it more. Is that possible?

Do you mean before I press cycle start to start the program or when the program asks for me to confirm T2 is in the spindle?

When the screen comes up for me to mount T2 and I then press Z- to jog off the Z0 it will not jog.

with limit tripped you can only slow jog away.

You can test without program, just jog with the tool in the spindle over the part and then to +Z if it is possible to get the tool tip 15mm over the part.

I just reran the program but set the part zero's with the CNC 12 instead of with Probe App and it worked fine. I just manually set the Z's not with the probe.

Since you do not have soft limits set for Z, rapid moves to Z0 very well may trip the limit switch depending on how close the switch actuation point is to Z0.
