This Thread is outdated, Beta 5.19R9 is already with FRV and SSV professional made from Centroid with smooth sine curves.

SSV is a very useful feature for lathes.

In this example tool steel with HRC35 turned down from 20 to 18.2mm with 2000rpm f 0.12mm ap 0.2mm on 280mm length with no chatter and less than 0.001mm deviation on a cheap Chinese lathe.

SSV +-100 rpm / 1.5s no chatter ok surface finish

I am really happy with the perfect implementation of this feature from Chris.

Hey Uwe.

Can you tinker a bit with the SSV and FRV?
SSV actually works quite well.
Can you please ensure that SSV is automatically switched off when a program is stopped?
This also applies to the emergency stop

The same problem and with FRV it really is a problem also applies to FRV.
My machine rattles to the starting point.....disaster
What would also be good if you could find a real M command to activate and deactivate it.
This M..../....
disaster

I would have an improvement for FRV
For plastic to break chips, FRV as it is now is not good enough.
For aluminium/steel/Va is great but plastic..... I've tested it
Can you integrate feed hold variation into the PLC?
I thought that with Feed Hold Variation activated you could always have the machine stop automatically for 0.5 seconds. Let's say every 2mm or so...
Or let's say in the menu you can specify how many mm it should stop for so many 0.5 seconds

Again in German because Google German is not real German...

Hey Uwe

Kapiert?

Hi Stephan,

this is all possible right now, you can also have different FRV and SSV for each cut if you write the g-code this way.

If I have time for this, I will write a manual with examples.

I have been waiting patiently for this feature and I am so very happy to see it is available. I am not very good with PLC, but I would like to use the SSV specifically. Is there a manual or anything for implementation? Also, is there a way to activate this feature in post processing with Fusion 360?

Thanks!!!
Andy

with Manual NC Entry you can turn FRV on and off

https://help.autodesk.com/view/fusion36 ... BCC5EF4439

Insert M94/71 g code to turn FRV On
and to turn it off maybe for the next tool
insert M95/71

SSV to avoid vibration turning a thin wall on cylinder liners:

Really great that this option is included in CNC12.
