Multi Start Threads

Post by RC-Lights »

Hi all,

I have two questions regarding multi Start threads:

1. How to Do such a Multi Start thread in Generall in Intercon? I Think, when i move the start offset half the pitch to Z+ for a 2 Start thread, It should work, right?
I want to use these Kind of threads for screwed connections, the haptic feeling is very nice.

2. Using Multi Start threads could be also an opion for rough knurling pattern. But here i cannot move the starting Point, It should Start and end always at the same Z Coordinate.

Is there a way so write this with g-Code?
I think yes, should be an easy G99 G01 movement, but for change the starting Point i need a working c axis, right?

Thank you in advance,

Michael

1 Yes

2 No, also a threading tool is ground for a 1-4 degree helix angle, not for 30-60...

Herea subprogram I use to mill knurls with C-axis.
