Hi everybody,
I am fixing to convert my torchmate growth series 4x4 to a centroid controller. My question is can I have 2 z axis heads, ie... my plasma torch on one and a drill motor/spindle on another and switch between them while havin an independant slave motor on the y axis for squaring, with the acorn board? Or will I have to connect both y axis motors together and operate as one axis.
I have searched and am unable to come up with anything that addresses this specifically.
Thanks in advance
Jared

Re: dual tool on a 4 axis plasma table, torch/drill motor on z
Hello Jared
I think it is more common and much easier to have both the Spindle and Torch on the same Z axis.
In this situation the torch would be on a Piston slide that would activate and extend the torch below the spindle when the Torch is in use.
Andy Has been posted with his plasma/drill router build on the Centroid Acorn Facebook group. You can search Andy on the Centroid Acorn group to see his build.

I've attached a snip of his router.
