I'm trying to hook up a round mount torch holder on my new plasma table build.
It's got 3 NO NPN 24v proximity switches, I've got 2 hooked together as breakaway switches and the third as a float switch.
They get passed to IN1 and IN2 on the Acorn board through the THC. The trouble is, nothing happens when I trigger any of them. The lights don't change on the Alt+i input diagnostic screen, and all 8 input leds on the Acorn board are constantly lit red.
Also can't get my ohmic torch tip to trigger anything either.
I feel like I'm missing something simple, but can't seem to find any problems.

Hello Duke
Do you have the THC set to installed in the Profile manager's THC Config menu?

Did you configure the inputs in the wizard?

Re: Torch sensor hookup
Sorry, here's a report zip
Most everything is still at default settings, haven't got the machine cutting anything yet.
Yeah, the THC is set to installed in the profile manager. I forgot I'd done that, but I guess I had at some point.

Re: Torch sensor hookup
Thank you for the report, inputs are configured correctly. Which wiring diagram did you follow? Did you hook up 24v to either H1 or H4? Do you have a Google album started with pics of everything that you can share? A photo of the Acorn board wired up would also be helpful.

Re: Torch sensor hookup
Like Shawn said pictures of the acorn and THC kit wiring will help a lot.
I'm curious as to why the Torch touch (T in) is also not triggering.
What plasma cutter are you running?
To Trigger to ohmic torch touch. The (T in) input on the TX is looking for a connection to the TX boards (GND) which is on pin number 6 on the Hypertherm.
You can test the Torch touch by connecting the (GND) on the TX board to the (Tin) on the TX board.
The TX boards (GND) is connected to Hypertherm's pin 6 and has a straight connection to the material clamp. So when the Material Clamp is attached to the material the GND of the TX is reaching to the material. The TX board's (Tin) is connected to the Torch.
When the torch touches the material, it completes the connecting between the (GND) input and the (Tin) input on the TX board and triggers the torch touch.
What plasma cutter are you running?
Also I did check out a couple plots that were made in your report. Looks like some 10+ volts floating around possible. Do not fire the torch until these other issues are figured out. I'm worried the TX may not be grounded right of some mix up.
There are green lights on the TX and RX correct?

Re: Torch sensor hookup
I think he's missing the 24 volts for the inputs since none of them are working. Hopefully he'll send a pic and tell us what diagram he's following.

Re: Torch sensor hookup
Hey guys, thanks for your help
Here is an album I just created, bear with me while I upload some photos to it
https://photos.app.goo.gl/4isqNxrL3p5wBykr6
I'm using a hypertherm 45xp but I don't have any material loaded on the table right now, I don't think the ground clamp is connected either.

Looking forward to the Pictures
Yeah no ground clamp will cause the Torch touch not to trigger. Once hooked up you should be able to just touch the material clamp to the Torch tip to trigger the torch touch.

Re: Torch sensor hookup
There's a few pictures in there now, let me know if the link doesn't work.
You were absolutely right, the ground clamp made all the difference. Now the tip touch off works, I guess I had assumed it would work off one of the dozens of other grounds I've been hooking up!
Still all red lights on the acorn board inputs though.
