M61 Torch Touch off and Pierce Cycle not working <resolved>
When the M61 macro gets to line 65 of auto_z_zero_macro.cnc sub program, the job stops and throws a 501 error message. However, at that point the torch has not retracted, and float switch is still triggered. "Torch Touch OFF" test works via VCP button. Baffled??

Re: M61 Torch Touch off and Pierce Cycle not working
The Torch touch off button on the VCP raises the torch to the safe height. Probably 1inch.
The touch off cycle during the job will retract to the pierce height. Which is .15 probably. I'm guessing that the torch float offset may not be set right? And when the torch attacks to the pierce height, the float switch is still tripped
Can you do a Dry run of the job. The torch will retract to the safe hight when in dry run mode.
Fresh report would be great also

Re: M61 Torch Touch off and Pierce Cycle not working
Hey Keith,
Tried to attach report, and got error message: file to large. File is 15400 kb. Forgive me if I'm doing it wrong - I have built at least 5 machines with the Acorn controller - but I have had so few issues I'm still a rookie when it comes to this.
Joey, the torch does not retract at all. It stops at the float trigger Z and throws the "invalid character" message on the Z<Pierce_Height> line.

Is the Report compressed into a Zip folder?
What is the Pierce height in the profile manager?

Re: M61 Torch Touch off and Pierce Cycle not working
Can you share the job your running?
Can you run a provided test job in the NCfiles folder.
It almost sounds like there is no M65 at the beginning of your Gcode.
The M61 looks for the Profile information like pierce height from the M65 at the beginning of the job.

Re: M61 Torch Touch off and Pierce Cycle not working
You nailed it. Overlooked M65 in job file. Job ran as advertised!
Second, for future reference, the Report I tried to upload is the Zip just as generated from the controller. What size is it typically?
As always, you guys are much appreciated. Thanks

Re: M61 Torch Touch off and Pierce Cycle not working
Good to Hear!
Plasma can generate a lot of Plots.
The plots are included in the Report.
You can just delete the older Plots to shrink the report size.
