Hey everybody.
I'm new to programming and I need some help with changing my pierce cycle.
With my fiber laser I don't want the laser head to actual touch the metal surface when it doing the pierce cycle.
I don't want the pierce cycle to be with floating switch or ohmic sensor.
I want it to work with the thc voltage reading.
Example:
The pierce cycle starts.
The torch in coming down (z axis)
Until the thc get the voltage reading of 1 voltage dc, without actual touching the metal.
The thc is connected to a capacitance sensor, so the thc is receiving voltage reading all the time.
It don't needs an arc for the voltage reading..
I would appreciate if I can get some help on this matter

Re: Pierce cycle programming
Hello Tamar
This would be pretty nice. especially for other Laser builds. I've added this to the List. Ill let you know when we have something for testing in the future.
It Looks like the available Capacitive height sensor usually have up downs commands and more outputs than needed.
Which Capacitive sensor do you have?
Is it always the same voltage/height even with different material?
I'm looking for a simple one to test on my machine.

Re: Pierce cycle programming
I have the - LFS AP01 capacitance sensor
it's measuring the same height no matter what is the material.
