THC not responding

Post by jminardi01 »

Im looking for some guidance on what I could be doing wrong. I can not get the THC to make the Z-axis move. I have the THC on in the menu and in the profile. It reads voltage but the z-axis stays at the cut height. Any ideas on the direction I should be looking? I'm trying to cut 10g that's not flat.

Thanks
Josh

Hello Josh.
Make sure the THC is set to installed in the profile managers THC Config menu.

Make sure the Profile in the profile manager is set to Automatic or auto sense for the THC.

I would Turn the Plot ON in the (F7) Utility menu to capture THC plots so we can look back and see how the THC settings were reacting during the cut.

Have you ran the calibration Job yet?

Can you Post a Fresh report.
There should be some plot captures from Job interruptions and the calibration already.

Joey-
The THC is set to installed.

The profile manager is set to automatic.

I have ran the calibration job.

I turned plot on and ran a calibration file.

What files do you want out of the report? The file is to big to post here.

Thanks for your help.

Any of the Plots will do.

Running a couple Flat line cuts for plots would also be helpful

That works.

Your THC Reading Looks good!

Looks like your Voltage is higher than the Target in those plots.

I am seeing that the job is running slower than the Profiles feed rate which explains the high THC voltage compared to the Target voltage.

Is your Feed rate override on the VCP set to 50%?

It looks like the Velocity XY velocity is not reaching at least 90% of the Target velocity to activate THC

The purple line in the plot represents Antidive preventing the THC from enabling because of the high thc voltage.
In the THC config settings this is 7% by default. If the actual voltage is more than 7% of the Target than THC will not react.
THC Config Anti dive Voltage.jpg
The Orange Line represents THC turning ON. This is flat lined in the plot because the XY velocity is not reaching at least 90% of the target velocity. Velocity anti dive is controlled in the THC config menu.

I've Circled the VelRatio at the bottom left corner of the plot. 1 is full speed. .5 is 50% of speed.
