Few questions?

Post by BryanDowdy »

I'm currently using a ESS & Warprunner THC with sheetcam and Mach4. I'm looking to switch to Acorn and have a few questions:

1. Does Acorn support path rules in sheetcam?
2. I understand the cut profile is selected in Acorn. Is it possible to create g-code in Sheetcam and have it automatically select the cut profile?
3. Does the Acorn support external buttons? I currently have buttons for Run and Feedhold.

Thanks
Joey

Hello Brian.

Acorn Does Support Sheetcam rules. Check out the Acorn Plasma Manual to see the G and M codes Sheetcam can insert with a path rule into the Gcode.
Also Sheetcam can Insert a Percentage off feed rate command for slowing down in arcs and circles. 60 percent of the profile feed rate for small circles is recommended by Hypertherm.

There is not a way for sheetcam to tell the Acorn software to change profiles. But that is something that might be a good update for future features.

Acorn does support external buttons such as feedhold and Cycle start. That would be assigned (drag and drop) in the Acorn Wizards input menu.
users on a budget have been using this one. https://amzn.to/3OLidkC
