Flickering screen

Post by Jordy15 »

Hello guys,

I recently bought a Centroid Acorn for my Plasma machine,
I'm now in the bench test phase, but i have a problem with a flickering screen when moving all axis with the keyboard keys.
The flickering is also appearing when drivers are down, but when i just push the keyboard arrows for X, Y and Z movement.

I found this topic about a similar problem

https://centroidcncforum.com/viewtopic. ... ing#p41204

Seems like an old problem that should have been fixed.
But i download the most recent software version from the website, and still i have this problem.

Any ideas that will help me ? Thanks,

Best regards,

Jordy

I just tested with my laptop, because i was afraid the processor i used in my cncpc is not reaching minimum specifications.
The same flickering problem is appearing. Moving axis by mouse click in the controller is no problem, but when use jogkeys the flickering is there.
Also when jogging with keyboard, the CPU percentage is way higher then jogging with mouseclick.
My laptop has an Intel Core i7-4720HQ @2.60 GHz, so i guess this is not the problem.

the computer used to create the report.zip has a single core bench mark of 1232 which is below the minimum.

Good catch Jordy

Vcp jogging , pendant jogging and normal Operation works as expected.

If keyboard jogging is activated in the wizard then jogging with the keyboard arrows will cause CNC 12 to blink.
Looks like that popped up on the latest 5.0 build. Not seeing any functionality loss just really annoying to see CNC12 blinking.

That's what your seeing right?

Updated 5.02 build will be out shortly with the fix. Thanks for the heads up!

You definitely need a new cncpc........and not a laptop. The minimum pc specs for acorn can be found here. It's very important to have a fast computer with at least 8 GB or ram. PC's are very affordable these days. Especially on a plasma setup where smoothing is used.

Thanks for all reply's!

Yes Joey, that's exactly the problem that's appearing. Looking forward to the update 5.02.

I will take a look for a better cncpc.

Another question. I'm not sure to open a new topic or just ask things in this topic.

How to make the toolmark bigger in the Graph screen when machine is cutting ?
It's almost invisible.

https://photos.app.goo.gl/gGpqtesTRH5wf1qd7

Where can i find the option to enable trail, shown in the following video. So lines that have been cut change color.
In my controller i don't have that option: ' Trail off'

Is there also an option that shows how many percentage of the job is finished, and shows remaining jobtime ?

I couldn't find any manuals talking about those subjects.

Thanks
