Here is the link for photos I will get the report loaded today hopefully

I was having issues getting the z axis to work this weekend I think the driver was set to 24volts instead of 5

Can I set the torch to tip touch only do I need a ohmic sensor on the torch tip? How would wiring work?

When I try to run a program the acorn tries to touch off but it’s not moving how can I run a program without z axis?

I realize my z axis is ridged mounted so one of the next projects is to make a floating head

Anyone have experience with oxy-acetalene using acorn it looks like I have a solenoid to activate the oxygen. And preheat special programming

I suggest creating a report to backup your settings so you canget back to a working build if things get confusing. Create a report in the F7 Utility menu.

To skip the touch off just edit the M61 Macro from the cncm folder. To skip the touch off cycle just insert a semi colon in front of the touch off line. Ive done this to my M61 macro and you can see the semicolon on line 15
Skip touch off PNG.PNG

You can edit the M61 macro to actuate an output for your gas. Just follow the path's from inside the M61 Macro to edit the Pierce macro.

Here is the report thanks so much for the help. Got my z axis working. Fried the driver, But looking at Eliminating z axis the macro does not look the same Joey. Thanks

hello. if the value is correct in the overall turns ratio for the X axis
the mechanical gearing (or lack thereof) on this machine is un workable.
vr plasma.png
this is indication that pinion is directly connected to the axis motor?

you need to install a gear box 5:1 ratio

like this.

axis motor gearing sweet spot for plasma is ideally 1.5 to 2 turns per inch.
and 3200 steps per rev.

looks like you have leadshine drivers, set the dip switches to 3200 and make change in wizard!

in your photos,
which axis is X and which are you calling Y?

Keith thanks for the insight! The x axis and a axis move the gantry and yes are directly connected. I will source some gear reduction asap. The .14 is what it took to make it move 1” I knew it would be a problem. It seemed to operate decently when I had it go to home position, could this rate burn up the motors? I had to install a 5:1 gear box on the y axis to get it to work correctly as well. Another thing is this table is built with chain drive which is not used anymore so gearing has been a struggle as there are no comparable machines.wow this process has been crazy wish I would have started with centroid the support is great.

I appreciate the feedback can’t wait to cut parts!

Better gearing on the X axis will just give you a lot more definition. This allows for smoother changes in direction/velocity.

Can you take some close up picture of the X axis motors and drive system?
