Pronest .tap file
I have the acorn cnc for my plasma table and couldnt figure out how to make nests with the cnc12 CAM so i got the hypertherm pronest LT. Except it outputs a .tap file. How do I make the .tap file operate the acorn controller with the m and g codes from hypertherm?

Re: Pronest .tap file
i moved this thread into the plasma forum.
the extension (.tap) doesn't matter (its just a text file)but, the g codes inside do.
contact the Pronest folks to make a post processor so Pronest will export Centroid compatible g code.
sample centroid compatible g code files are included with the CNC12 software that you can use as examples for how ever is working on the pronest post as well as examples with explanation in the Plasma users manual. here. https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_di ... manual.pdf

Re: Pronest .tap file
I use Vcarve Pro to CAM all my AutoCAD DWG or DXF plasma files and Vcarve has the nesting function. The custom PP I wrote also outputs a .tap file for my Acorn plasma table. No problem reading a .tap file you just have to have the correct PP for Acorn as Keith stated.

Re: Pronest .tap file
I believe I heard that ProNest is currently working with a customer on a post processor for Acorn Plasma. You may be able to find that out when you contact Hypertherm.
There is a list of Plasma specific M and G codes.
Check out PG 37,38,39 of the Plasma manual.
Plasma manual can be downloaded here

and sample g codes files are included with the CNC12 installer located in the cncm/ncfiles directory.
