Thc problem < non hypertherm build >

Post by Tamarbarr »

Hey there. My name is tamar.
I have bought the acorn thc tik, and I haven't been able to run the thc properly.
I have done successfully the thc calibration as centroid required, but after the thc calibration when I'm trying to run a program it always shows me error when I start the program, "calculation error"

Tamar"s THC kit is connected to a "misnco 105AL". This is not a Hypertherm. Beware of connecting any other plasma cutter even if the cutter is a "Hypertherm" copy.

Hello Tamar

I'm thinking that some settings for the touch off macro or possibly the gcode file that is being used has a invalid number set. Not really sure at this point but with a fresh "report.zip" we can take a deeper look and figure out where the issue is. You can generate a report in the "F7", "Utility" Menu. Once inside of the "F7","Utility" menu select "F7", "Create report". Take Note on the location the report file is saved in and attach the report file in a reply to this forum thread. Let me know if you need further help generating the Report.

Hi Tamar, before you fix your THC issue you need to setup your machine correctly. Your "steps per revolution" in the wizard are not setup correctly.

Please read this topic and correct the steps per revolution on your machine. These numbers need to match the settings on your drives.

What drives and motors are you using?

we need much more info to help you, shawn is right, steps per rev in the report shows an impossible number.
review The acorn plasma install manual in addition to the link shawn posted.

take photos of your machine and control cabinet put lots of photos into a online photo album, post the link to the album here so we can see it so we can give you good advice.

and when you get a chance use a 1920x1080 monitor as well.

Great, can you post screen shots of the "calculation error" you are talking about? Please start a Google photo album with picture of your machine and control cabinet as well.

You are on the right track with your new drive settings. As Keith stated change your screen resolution to 1920x1080, the screen layout and VCP were designed for this resolution. Yours is set to 1536x864 which is too small.
