THC not responding < machine mechanicals need addressed>

THC not responding or responding fast enough
Cutting 26g so its flimsy and the torch sometimes is way high above surface and will not come down
35amp fine cut

and I can’t get torch to go back to WCS X0 Y0
sometimes it works and most time it doesn’t.

Z is so high on this cut back to normal on next cut.

26ga material is going to need a custom profile with a properly set target voltage. If your voltage is more than 7 percent of the target voltage then Anti dive will kick in. If you do not set the target voltage in the profile to match your material than your definitely going to see antidive kick in and prohibit the z from reacting. I would turn the Amperage from the Hypertherm down as much as you can. Then tune your profile to find the correct voltage. Just run a straight line cut on the material for your profile using Auto Sense. Watch the left side of the screen while cutting and you will see the voltage that is being cut at full feedrate. Set that voltage as your profile voltage. A fast Z is needed to keep up with the voltage changes of thin materials.

As Joey stated, you need to know the target voltage for the material you want to cut. If its not in the Hypertherm book you have to determine what it is for YOUR machine by doing a few test cuts. Anytime I cut any new material for the first time I always determine what the target voltage is for MY machine. The book may say 135 volts but those numbers were derived from a perfect machine in a perfect environment under perfect LAB conditions. They are not always spot on for any given machine.

When you have a material thickness not in the book it's up to you to find them. The way I do it is to cut the "4" line" file that comes by default with CNC12 Plasma that is in the ncfiles directory. In your case select the closest match of material from the profile manager. Then as Joey stated select "auto sense" for the THC mode. Also make sure the cut height is .06. After the cut is finished go to MDI and type M51. This will display the target voltage used during the last cut. A very handy feature built in to CNC12 Plasma. The profile you selected is already thin material and it is going to cut real fast and 26 gauge will need to be set even faster. You wont be able to see the target voltage on the screen as it'll be a very quick start and stop. This is where M51 comes in handy. I also like to watch the cut so nothing weird happens and I can't watch both so again, M51 is a life saver sometimes.

Also, I'd suggest you fine tune your Z axis steps/rev. From your current report you have it set at 4.000 and there's no way that's accurate. If any axis on a plasma table with THC needs to be accurate it's the Z axis in my opinion. It needs to be FAST, SNAPPY AND ACCURATE.

so i changed anti dive threshold little by little. and I’m at 60%
100v at 30 amps.
It’s does great on X axis cuts BUT on Y axis it gets away from the surface more and Z axis doesn’t change. goes back to X and it works. back down to Y. locks in. Very weird video and pic in album

how did you determine Z axis overall turns ratio = 4?
is the Z axis driven by a screw? if so what is the pitch of the screw?

can you verify that the clearpath RAS feature is disabled in the clearpath software for Z axis motor?
