Upgrade - How to keep "profile manager" custom settings

Post by ShawnM »

I'm finally going to be upgrading my plasma to 4.80 this weekend when I finish my current jobs. I see the plasmaprofilemanager.exe file in the cncm directory and see that's what the vcp button launches. Is there a separate file that stores the profiles for each material? I have made several changes to the profiles to suit my machine and dont want to lose those settings. I have all my custom macros and vcp buttons already stored in a separate folder for backups and want to add my custom profiles as well.

Just curious what file/folder I need to keep to save my custom profiles if it's not the same plasmaprofilemanager.exe file. I see how to export a single profile in the plasma manager but not all the profiles.

Since I'm upgrading from 4.66 to 4.80 I plan on a full manual backup as restoring a report and current settings is not an option.

I just found the answer to my own question, I found the profiles folder in the resources folder under plasma. Copied out to by backup folder.

Restore report should bring back those profiles also.

I assumed this but on this upgrade I'm not doing a "restore report", going from 4.66 to 4.80. I've been busy with jobs and didn't want to take the machine out of commission until I finish up this week. Thanks Joey for the response.
