using jog to make some cuts

Post by jcoldon »

Question i used my table the other day had do bunch of jog cuts. were i just set the speed and cut Hight edge start
Well at the end of the jog cut i noticed the controller goes in cut recovery mode. then i got reset that put the speed back
i install the new software in few days I'm using 2 versions back. question is this normal to have the end of jog cut go in cut recovery mode
it was a little bit of a pain but not that big deal to reset. Joey, have you tested this ?

Hey Jeff. Is JOG cutting just turning the torch on and jogging the torch to cut?
I'll mess around and see if I can replicate it.

you can create custom macro and assign to VCP button. (these are called "one shots") for simple cuts . macro can be programmed to prompt operator for length and axis..then GO! easy peasy. for more involved use Intercon for quick squares, circles, multi line etc..

Hey Jeff. Were you running off the edge of the material with each cut? If so that would explain why cut recovery was kicking in. When the torch runs off the material there is a flame out. If the job has not reached the end point of the cut yet and there is a flame out from going off the material. That will trigger a cut recovery. Flame out is an interruption of the job and triggers restart mode. Maybe an option to disable restart mode would come in handy? For example, if there are a bunch of odd "Jog cuts" the job will not react to a "flame out"/ loss of Arc.
What do you think?
