Have you tried the contouring smoothing profile?

remember smoothing isn't going to make up for big issues like slop or backlash in the machine

smoothing only makes good machines better.

i used smoothing on and off i found good drawings with cleaned up nodes does better then smoothing on in circles
then using heavy node drawing i found smoothing helped a little .
but nothing suits a properly setup rack pinion gear tight motion no slop

exactly.. smoothing does little for a good g code program (good = not a bunch of short ratty vectors) running on a good designed machine.

My Y-axis is tight but I found some shake on the X-axis as the carriage moves along the gantry. Once I get that cleaned up I think it should cut some smooth lines.
