I have a rev3 Acorn board running my mill and just received a new rev4 board for a plasma table I'm building. Can I run both boards from the same computer? If so, how would I switch between them.

I would highly recommend you erase this idea from your head and simply buy a second computer. It’s probably the least expensive part in a CNC system. It’ll save you a lot of headaches down the road. There are several threads on the forum where people try this and eventually buy a second pc. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks Shawn and Keith. Referb PCs are so cheap I really should avoid the problems running both systems from the same PC.

Very wise decision. Look at the Lenovo M92P and I use the HP ProDesk 600 G3 mini computers. Same size or smaller than the Lenovo and a newer pc. Both good for CNC12 and cost about $150 +/- a few dollars depending on where you are.

Just check the CPU on the benchmark site to confirm it meets the minimum CPU specs to run the software. 1500 minimum on the single thread rating. This is NOT the large orange number on the website, the single thread rating is smaller number below the large orange number.

It has an Intel Core i5-4570T @ 2.90GHz with a single thread rating of 1877. Should be good to go. I still need to get a monitor for it. My mill has an ASUS VT229H 21.5" 1080P IPS touch screen monitor that I really like. It's a little pricey @ $260
