Sey Shawn,
What outputs do you have for operating the scribe on your table? 2? Scribe on and and the air cylinder?

Hey Joey, yes, I just have the solenoid wired to an output to activate it before I start scribing. I just use the generic "output X" as it stays active/on during the lettering/marking. I can then move the scribe up and down from the workpiece between letters/marks via the Z axis. I've seen other videos where the user opens and closes the solenoid between letters/marks. Less efficient in my opinion because of the travel distance but it works. I have not upgraded to 5.0 yet as I'll admit I dont use the plasma that much anymore now that there is access to a 12,000 watt fiber laser.
Hope this helps.

Seems like there's 2 ways of doing scribe.
1. Touch off Torch to set z zero.
Raise z to Scribe safe height.
Move Z to Scribe XY offset.
Turn on scribe and extend scribe.
Wait for scribe start up delay.
lower z/scribe to material and start xy motion.
2. Move to Scribe XY offset
Just turn on the scribe and air cylinder at the same time.
Scribe extend down and smacks the material.
Wait for start-up delay if one is needed then start motion.
This method is needed when the Scribe is not mounted to the Z axis torch plate.
Looks like option 2. is more popular/ easier to set up.
While Option 1. looks like a smoother scribe operation without the scribe smacking the material at the beginning of the scribe causing a divot? any opinions?

So your voting for option 1. in my previous comment? yeah it just looks better when the z retracts the torch. I'm thinking we should support both versions. Give the user some options.
