If I get the Centroid Acorn for plasma do I have to get and use their closed loop thc system?
The reason I ask is because its going to be a bit of money to convert everything from Mach 3 and I have the proma thc right now.
I do want to get their THC eventually.

Re: THC
The Acorn Control is not setup to take up/down movement commands via the I/o input.
I have seen Proma THC's working with centroid controls before.
From what I saw they were kind of stand a lone and heavily modified with custom PlC's and macros.
From what it looked like the Z axis and Proma was a separate system that received a control output command when to touch off and sent back to the control when to start X and Y motion. Then received a command to retract.
It's possible but I can't imagine the time and effort would be worth it. As far as I know there's no step by step guide and would take a lot of trial and error.
