I have a prime weld cut 60 plasma cutter and the centroid cable from the plasma cutter to the THC board. I'm planning on changing the internal voltage divider to a proma voltage divider. My question is once I've changed the voltage divider to the proma unit can I still use the same cable from the prime weld to the THC board?
Thanks

No, you should not use the Centroid PrimeWeld cable if you are changing the voltage divider.cardin3 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2025 8:13 pm I have a prime weld cut 60 plasma cutter and the centroid cable from the plasma cutter to the THC board. The connector used is an SP21-12 with male pins and female threads for the cable and a panel mount SP21-12 with female pins and male threads for the plasma unit itself.

Re: Voltage divider/ cable ?
The Centroid Cable should not be used with the proma divider.
The Cnc port connector August referenced are pretty cheap.
The Proma 0-10 signal output can be connected straight to the TX board as Jeff Colden demonstrated.

Re: Voltage divider/ cable ?
Okay just so I fully understand I run an entirely new wire from the promo unit to the THC board. Should I use a shielded wire to make that connection from the promo unit to the THC board. I assume the torch on and off signal can still run through the Centroid cable correct?

Yes, you should use shielded wire or cable and terminate to chassis/earth ground.cardin3 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 10:15 pm Okay just so I fully understand I run an entirely new wire from the promo unit to the THC board. The signals can run through the Centroid cable but you would need to make sure you have nothing connected to the conductors for the divided torch voltage. That would be pins 3 and 7 on the connector. I think doing it that way could be more trouble than it is worth and making a new cable is better.
