Question: why is the Ena signal not apparent when I jog an axis through Acorn?

Do you have a diagram of the Ste, Ena and Dir output values, ranges, meaning for H1, H2 and H3?
Is there a manual on the Acorn, other than the installation manual?

There is, and it is appended to the bottom of the installation manual. To be specific, page 126 of the document shows that H2 and H3 are open collector outputs. They require a pull up to the drive's input voltage and therefore the output voltage range depends on what voltage it is pulled up to. In your case, the pull up resistors are internal to the drive and the voltage is supplied on CN2 pin 2 for step and direction. CN2 pin 9 supplies the voltage for enable.

The output low voltage should be under 1.4V and the output high voltage should be pretty close to the pull up voltage.

Hey there,
I have the same motors and drivers and I was able to make them work with the acorn board just fine but I'm definitely not pleased with their performance!
It's impossible to get them tuned correctly beware!

I have a fiber laser machine that ive build based on the acorn plasma 4 axis controller.

I've connected the drivers to the acorn db25 connector(5v dc)

In the db25 connector in the aasd 20a driver this is the connections that I've made :

In the driver db25 connector pin 14 to pulse- ,
Pin 3 to pulse+ , pin 5 to dir- , pin 4 to dir+ .

The dir+ and pulse+ I've connected 5v dc from the centroid duel power supply 24v/5v.

The dir- and pulse- I've connected from the db25 connector in the acorn board.

I'm attaching to this post some pice and the full manual of this driver.

Nice machine!
Thank you for the pointer.
Great, that worked through the onboard DB25 for the z-axis.
Now I'll hookup the x and y and rearrange the board.
Odd it won't work through the H1/H2/H3.
I've asked the technician at the motor manufacturer for help tuning, will keep you informed of their answer. Maybe it's because it goes through the Acorn DB25?

Z servo being replaced courtesy of manufacturer, X & Y work.
Z servo replacement now works.

My NC limit switches are being clobbered on homing routine.
How can I soften impact so they are not broken?

In the Wizard's Homing/Travel menu you can adjust the Feed rate of each axis during Homing.

Also tuning the accel/deccel rates of each axis will improve your deceleration rate so that when the switch is tripped the axis can come to a stop faster
