He did say "Are the drive's digital inputs powered? I believe you need to run 12 to 24 volts and signal ground/power supply common to them to provide the pull up voltage."
I interpreted from his drawing that pin 3 was an input.

The quoted statement of mine is regarding the digital inputs and outputs. That is: SigIn1 to SigIn4, SigOut1 to SigOut4, and their power pins on pin 9 and 10.

All of the documentation you were provided by FastToBuy stated that pin 2 is the input for pull up voltage for step and direction inputs used with open collectors. That drawing has an offset on the text in that area but it is clear if you look at the simplified circuitry shown that pin 2 is for that pull up.

wiring diagram, below, of AASD-15A says "Input Power" for pin 3. Above it, it says "Open collector pulse" for pin 2.
Not clear and the servo manual is 200+ pages.
The servo manual also shows, as below, that pin 3 is the "collector input power". Well, that is just as ambiguous/incorrect.
Thus at one point I connected the pulse/step line to 2 and the 24v to 3.

Good, but there were other things stopping the drives from moving at that time.

these are garbage drives.

if you want to succeed with your project i highly recommend you use a drive that we have curated. There are many good affordable choices.

The Diagram was pulled straight from the AASD-15A manual and is not a centroid schematic.

Centroid does not support or have schematics for these drives for this exact reason. They are cheap and have a reputation of bad documentation and quality.

Leadshine Hybrids or even Stepper online would be a much better option.

As you can see by the servo manual and diagrams I'd say it's not worth continuing the build with these drive and switch to something of better standards.

I think you are coming up with excuses.
Your instructions were ambiguous, while the wiring diagram had problems.
However, the wiring diagram you provided was for the wrong motor, the AASD-15A, while it should have been for the AASD-20A.
The manufacturer is sending me a corrected wiring diagram shortly. They have other users who have operated with Centroid controllers, and the company that sold me these drivers also sells Delta and Leadshine, and consider the servo drives we have as comparable.
I just need to correct the pin layout and fix the drives, not bad advice and unjustified criticism.

Below is the corrected servo motor driver AASD-20A diagram. The manufacturer's technician has tested the driver after the same mis-wiring and found no problem with the driver, it therefore should only be the Acorn.
As one of Centroid's reps said, "the wiring diagram is correct". Well, it was not. Please keep the below on file.

Well at least you look to have it figured out now.

Need to make sure the drive schematic being referenced actually matches the drive you have before hooking up power.
