I'm setting up my acorn controller to run my plasma cutter. Do to wiring aesthetics, I have drive 1 connected to the z axis. I attempted to change the axis dive number through he wizard, but it dosn't give me that option. I tried to change parameter 300 and 302, but that has no effect as well. Am I missing a parameter?
Thanks.

Re: Parameter 300-302 not assigning drive to axis
Wow sorry I missed This Post.
For Acorn Plasma the Axis cannot be changed. The Axis are always 1 X/ 2 Y/ 3 Z.
Technically the axis could be changed but specifically for Plasma this will lead to other issues.
What was the reason for Z to be the 1st axis?

Re: Parameter 300-302 not assigning drive to axis
Aesthetics. Don't judge. I originally had the left two drivers wired to drive 3 for Y axis(long axis). I did not feel like trying to rewire it while making it look nice. I was also trying to save drive 4 for a second Z for an additional plasma torch head. I ended up setting it up for auto squaring. So each driver got it's own output and I'll manually switch torch heads if I even utilize my larger plasma cutter.
Thanks for the response though.

Re: Parameter 300-302 not assigning drive to axis
please use the Centroid CNC configuration Wizard for cnc setup rather than hand editing parameters.
Much better chance of success using the Wizard for you first time.

Re: Parameter 300-302 not assigning drive to axis
and you can hardware pair the axis drives on the gantry and still get autosquaring for the gantry while freeing up the 4th axis for other duties

Re: Parameter 300-302 not assigning drive to axis
I have a cnc mill that uses oak board. Nice system, but I don't believe that has a wizard. I set everything up from the parameters screen. So it was my first instinct here. But I have been using the wizard for most things on the acorn now. It is a wee bit easier.
Yea, I saw that. To implement that strategy, it would involve completely rewiring my drivers. That took me days to wire them in like that. I don't need a 4th axis that badly. Thanks though.
