Tamar
Les will probably need to adjust his Post. I've communicated to Les how the B axis will be set.

How to set the rotary axis to linear axis for Sheetcam.

1. Set rotary as a linear axis
2. Move Rotary to Zero
3. Set DRO position to Zero
4. Jog Rotary table one revolution (360 degrees)
5.Read DRO position
6. Calculate adjusted mm per turn
Calculation for new mm per turn = (DRO reading/360) X previous mm per turn.
Repeat for accuracy.

Tamar.
Have you tried these changes? I've also noticed a big difference with smoothing on and off. Smoothing on helps maintain target velocity. Have you been running with smoothing on?

Yes I've tried the configuration that you've told me, it did not do any difference.
I always have the smoothing on.

Hey there sorry I haven't been in touch.
I didn't really played to much with the rotary cause I'm still waiting for the laser equipment.
I did tried to cut a few parts on the rotary and I'm having some trouble with it.
For some Reason when I run a program on the rotary plasma with the thc on my z axis is losing steps and therefore the program is failing.
When I run the same program with the thc off I'm able to complete it successfully.

I've spoken with les and this is his response:

"Hi Tamar,

I suspected your Z axis was losing position. There are two possible
causes for the problem. Either the THC is trying to move too fast for
the Z axis motor and making it lose position or the THC is getting
confused by the large Z axis moves while cutting. Does the THC have
separate settings for acceleration and maximum speed or does it just use
the Z axis motor settings? If there are separate settings for
acceleration and speed for THC try reducing them. If not, try reducing
the Z axis motor acceleration. It may be worth having a chat with
Centroid to see if they have any ideas.

Alternatively see how well you get on with running without THC. Your
tube is supported close to the torch so you may well get away with it."

I did as he suggested and lowered the speed of the thc down to 2000, (my z axis max speed settings is 9000) and I also lowered the acceleration of the z axis from 0.5 to 1.5 and it did help a little I think but not completely.

I never had any problems this losing steps with the thc on when I'm cutting sheets.
Also all of my motors have encoders.

Any idea how to solve it?
