Powermeter

Post by Houseman303 »

Is it possible to introduce a percentage display for the power meter display of the axes and tool spindle in a future update?

load meters for the axis motors is available now.
spindle load meters are usually $10 analog meters wired to the VFD
would be possible to wire to the control board if you have an analog input available.

I think what he is asking for, is a piece of text at one end or the other of the load meter bar, that says something like "12%". He seems to know about the existing load meters already.

That's exactly what I meant. The load meter on the spindle, for example, has no frame, like the axle displays do. I see load, but I can only guess how much that is. I read that the frame of the axles corresponds to 300%. I would have to adjust the load display on the spindle. 8.4A is continuous load (S1) 100%. 10A is the maximum power (S6) for 6 minutes. Other controls then also display this with a color change to yellow or red. But I think that's asking too much, since the focus is on Acorn and Acorn6 with funny graphics in vcp. I am extremely disappointed with Centroid. My lathe should also get a new control, probably not from Centroid as planned.

Tough to get help like that! Ouch! Not sure if you'll find another CNCgroup out there to help as much as they do. They expect us to do a little homework but in the end; if treated fair they'll help anyone. My experience working with Centroid

the centroid axis load meters do currently change color from green, yellow to red.

and yes we can add a number display to the meter and filter it so its not jumping around alot so you can read it and make it optional to display or not since some users will not want this etc..

So for me the color of the display doesn't change. I made the settings in the PLC according to the instructions from cncsnw.

What do you see on the screen if you apply between +9VDC and +10VDC to the spindle load meter input?
