A little help please

Post by AllenM »

Allin 1MPU 12 system. Everything was working fine until last night (time stamp is wrong because date and time on the computer was incorrect)
I am posting the exported report.
it is telling me all limiters have been tripped and at one point e stop was detected. I have reset E Stop a couple times but errors have not cleared.

I am not very knowledgeable about the workings of the cnc itself, so I will do the best I can. what info am I missing that is needed?

Thanks in advance

A few things:

You can get a simple real time view of PLC state by inputting ALT + i in the CNC12 main screen. Your limit switches will be inputs 1-6. Take a look at those and see if they are working correctly. They should be green when not tripped. I would check the power supply for the inputs considering the limit switches and E-stop all seem to be reading as tripped.

Did you reset E-stop from the physical E-stop button or from the VCP RESET button? They are not quite the same and it does not look like you have any E-stop circuit hooked up to the ALLIN1DC so cycling a physical button will not do anything to reset the control. It is highly recommended to use OUTPUT 1 (NoFaultOut) in the main E-Stop circuit and INPUT 11 (EStopOK) in a secondary circuit from the physical button.

You are on an old version of CNC12. It might be worth updating to the latest once this issue gets figured out. One thing to note is that your AMD FX-4100 CPU does not meet the minimum single thread performance requirements of 1500 MOps/second.

I was manually cycling the e stop button. I dont know about vcp
As far as the computer goes, I am on board with doing an upgrade but this one has been going for a few years now with no issues that I am aware of.

I did just get an eternity communication error though

As far as the wiring goes I am leary to dive into making changes without a clear understanding of what I am doing.
The power supply how do I test it?
I am not dumb just ignorant

Sorry about that! I should have avoided going straight to Centroid jargon.

I do not believe that your E-stop button is wired to the ALLIN1DC so all it will do is cut motor power and whatever else it is wired to. Try using the Virtual Control Panel RESET button to reset the ALLIN1DC.

Do you have a schematic for this installation? You can check the power supply with a multimeter in DC volts mode in an appropriate range. Expect the power supply for the inputs to be 12 or 24 volts DC. If you are not familiar with this kind of electrical stuff then it might be worth asking a buddy for help with tracing the circuits and probing safely.

I have tried the vcp button no change.
About to call a service center. But had a bad experience with them last time
