Post by RaptorMachine »

Hi Guys,

need help with Centroid M4oos System ID # 0316041244 CNC 7 v 8.22

this is a system transplant i purchased used and i am attaching it to a Bridgeport mill
report.zip
(23.86 KiB) Downloaded 2 times
i have the system booted and it loads completely.

i am getting a fault 405 " lubricant level low "

i checked the schematics and have the red wire from H10 input 6 and the brown wire Brown wire Lube Pump / Alarm Com on TB1 - 15B located and jumped ( i dont have the pump connected yet ) i can hit the emergency stop switch to no avail .. i have also rebooted the system with no luck

what could i be doing wrong

thanks
Joe

Have you verified that the float switch circuit is closed (i.e. that you have continuity from the red wire, through the lube float switch, to the brown wire)?

What value do you have in Machine Parameter 178?

If you have a working floppy disk, then use it to make and post a Report from the control:
1) Use F7/Utility -> F7/Report to put report files on the floppy disk
2) Delete the resulting "INSTALL.BAT" file from the floppy disk
3) Pack the remaining files into a "report.zip" archive and post it here.

Your PLC program probably expects the low-lube input to be normally closed; open if the level is low.

Your PLC program probably uses bit 0 of Parameter 178 to invert that expectation, so it can work with a normally-open float switch (or no switch connected at all).

Your PLC program, and your Parameters table, would be visible in a Report.

thanks for the help attached you will find the file required.

parameter 178 is 0.00

additionally after some thought i see that the machine MAY have had a controlled spindle.. at this time i do not.

i see some notes on the schematic that may have relevance

" input 3 must be jumpered to TB1 / 15B when high/low range switch is not installed "

there is no grn connection to 15a is that for a rotary spindle switch or rotary table on 4th axis

Press Alt-i to show the PLC Diagnostic display.
Press the right arrow key five times, to move the box to INP6 "LUBE_FAULT_IN".
Is the dot for INP6 Red, or Green?
Measure DC volts between 0VDC (lower terminal of plug H11) and the INP6 terminal (4th from bottom of H10). What do you get?
Connect a jumper wire from 0VDC to the INP6 terminal.

FOUND IT !

when you mentioned H11 i looked and realized there was no plug attached to it.. buried beneath the board was the orange plug for H11 connected that, jumped the lube float and it is working fine... red when open and green when jumped ..

Hopefully one last question.

the machine is ready and when i try to jog any of the axis i get no movement and an error stopped "411 ( x or y or z ) axis (1 or 2 or 3) full power without motion" does this machine need to be connected to 3 phase power for the motors to operate ? My other centroid does not. just figured that maybe an easy answer before i begin to dig into the wiring again

thanks so much !

Is the orange plug for H12, at the top right, plugged in?

Does the emergency stop contactor click in and out as you release and press emergency stop?

With emergency stop released and the contactor clicked in, what DC voltage do you measure from the "VM+" to the "VM GND" terminal on the upper right side of the SERVO3IO unit?

There should be approximately 120VDC there with emergency stop released. Take care in measuring this, because you can make a fairly impressive spark if you accidentally short 120VDC together or to the cover plate.

i also checked fuses on F1 F2 F3 for continuity, looks like the only 2 plugs that arent plugged in is H2, and TP7

i also put a meter on the axis power terminals while trying to jog.. reading 0 volts. i can turn the servo motors by hand and the dro positioning works
