Hello
I am getting a CMOS checksum error on start up . See attached screen pic. I just keep hitting F1 to continue.
My questions are: Can I just keep hitting F1 with out replacing motherboard battery.
Does the PCM-6890 B motherboard have a replaceable battery and if so will just replacing the battery
clear this.
Thank you
Dave

Re: CMOS checksum error
Yes, the Aaeon PCM-6890B uses a replaceable CR2032 battery.

Re: CMOS checksum error
Once you have a new battery installed, you will want to go to the CMOS Setup screens (press DEL persistently during the power-on self test) and correct the time and date, and any other recommended settings.
See https://www.centroidcnc.com/dealersuppo ... ds/114.pdf and search for "6890B".

Re: CMOS checksum error
I finally got around to changing the motherboard battery but now I have a black screen. The mill goes through normal start up and I am able to home and jog but the screen is black. I remember reading about this issue but cant find it again.
Thank you for any help.

Re: CMOS checksum error
If the screen is black, then the backlight is probably not working.
Check the tiny 12VDC plug that should connect to the backlight inverter, on the back side of the motherboard mounting plate. For orientation, review http://www.cncsnw.com/PC104M400Service.htm

Hello Marc
Thank you for your reply. I did as you suggested with no change. So I pressed around on the multi pin connector on the other end with a pencil and got it to work. It felt fully seated but it must of needed some coaxing.
Thank you once again for taking the time to help.
