Corrupted OS Data

Post by hijodeperking »

Some time ago I had some trouble with my Centroid model M400 control on a 3-axis CNC milling machine, a dude came to try to fix it and
made a backup of my Compact Flash and copied it to another, when connecting it I get this error (attached photo)
Image
I would like to know if there is any way to fix it or it is better to reinstall the software and if it were the second way i want to know
How can I get it, the Centroid had CNC11 (I attach a photo of the system ID)
Image
It works on linux base, no windows.

I hope you can help me, thanks and greetings from Mexico.

Do you have two compact flash cards: the original plus the copy?

Did the error, shown in your first picture, happen using the original card, or the copy?

If the error occurs with the copy, can you still boot and get into the CNC software using the original card?

What is the brand and size (capacity) of the new card?

That guy told me that he had bought another card but he stopped coming and doesn't answer my calls and I don't know if he modified something from the original memory, now I only have the original one in my hands, which is a 4gb Sandisk

It is likely that a new CF card with a fresh install is all that is needed.

It is also possible that your issues stem from PC hardware failure: e.g. swollen/leaking capacitors on the motherboard; or a bad memory DIMM; or an overheating CPU chip due to a broken heat sink bracket. It wouldn't hurt to look inside the console and check out the capacitors and the CPU heat sink and fan assembly; and to reseat the memory DIMM.

PM me if you want to purchase a replacement CF card with v2.72 software and operating system.
