allinone question

Post by mymachinery »

I am planning to install an allinone on my Bridgeport 412 & have a few questions
1) my servos are the SEM mt30m4-24, the motor leads have more than two conductors, some of them are for an internal tach. I watched the slides showing the encoder retrofit, but didn't see anything about the extra motor leads, would I just de-wire the tach leads at the pecker head and leave the tach in place?
2) I think the Haas mpg is the best ever, with the built in variable jog. Has anyone been able to make one work with the allinone?

Thanks!

OK, I have been reading further on the Ajax cnc and Centroid cnc pages. One question has been figured out as the Centroid instruction say I could just cut the tach leads or remove the tach brush rig completely. But now I have a different question. The encoder retro shown and encoder sold on Ajax is a 200 line encoder, the encoder shown on the Centroid instructions is a 10,000 line encoder. So what should I get? and how many "poles" should it have?

Thanks ,

We offer 2000 line and 10,000 line encoders. We require at least 1000 line count though typically you will need at least 2000 line. Please take a look at the below thread for full details on how to determine what you will need.
