If you wait a minute or two, to allow the control time to boot up and start the CNC7 or CNC10 software, do the usual LEDs in the jog panel light up? If so, then the computer is running, but the picture connection to the screen has been interrupted. That would usually be a problem with the LCD ribbon cable or "descrambler" board.

If none of the LEDs in the jog panel light up, then the computer is not booting. That would typically be a motherboard or CPU issue.

Once the jog panel LEDs light up, if you press and release emergency stop, then choose Slow and Continuous jog mode, are you able to jog the axes? That would confirm that all is working except the LCD signal.

The descrambler is on the back of the left edge of the LCD panel. You might be able to reach it by removing the cap screws from left, top, and bottom of the console front; then loosening the three right-edge screws a couple turns each; then "hinging" the front panel out an inch or two. Alternately, you can disconnect everything from the PC assembly from the back; then remove the front panel entirely.

Hi, after following your information I can confirm that the LEDs light and it jogs and moves fine . If I now do as you suggest and investigate the descrambler, is it something I can repair or replace ?

Depending on which motherboard is present, if it is an LCD problem, then you are also likely to have the option of a VGA connection.

What model motherboard does your console have?

See http://www.cncsnw.com/Motherboards.htm

That ribbon cable should work with Aaeon PCM-6890B and PCM-6893, and probably with Aaeon PCM-8152 and PCM-LN02 as well, provided it is properly plugged in to the correct header.
