Brand new Oak setup, couldn't complete spindlebenchtest.cnc

Hey, sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but the e-mail we received from sales directs us here for troubleshooting.

We just got started on an Oak we received recently, and we've ran into a couple hiccups. Probably nothing major, but being complete newbies to Centroid, it was enough to stop us in our tracks. The situation is as follows:

1. We made it all the way to step 4.2 on the install manual (https://www.centroidcnc.com/downloads/c ... manual.pdf), at which point we locate the spindlebenchtest.cnc file (it was already in the default folder), but when we hit alt+s we do not get the text indicated in part 4.2.2.4 (unlabeled, but it's the first picture on page 29 of the pdf listed)

2. Instead, we receive a message of "UNDEFINED PLC MESSAGE (4)" in the log on the top-right. Did some digging, perhaps after the install we do not have the correct plcmsg.txt file, but after some searching, we can't locate a copy of it. The hint that put us on this track was posted here: https://centroidcncforum.com/viewtopic. ... 270#p42270

3. No idea if any of this is related, but we cannot get the virtual jogboard to appear, even after replicating the setup instructions in the manual, and the YouTube video linked on the Oak page. We tried changing the 0 to a 1 in param 219, then restarting, but that didn't help either.

4. Outside of that, the install was going smooth as silk, and we replicated all steps along the way without fault. LEDs on the board are showing what they should be. Restarting works well, and quickly. We just sort of ran out of ideas trying to figure out what "UNDEFINED PLC MESSAGE (4)" is trying to tell us.

Any help would be appreciated, and thanks in advance!

You will need to post a Report from your control, before anyone can guess at your issues.

Here is the plcmsg.txt that Centroid provides with the PLC program you are using. Download it and copy it into your c:\cncm directory.

The VCP will not display on a 1280x1024 screen. You need a monitor with a "wide screen" format (i.e. a 16:9 ratio of width:height).

Change Machine Parameter 170 to a value of 1.0 to enable the keyboard jogging functions.

Alternately, change Parameter 170 to a value of 5.0 to enable keyboard jogging, and also tell the PLC never to look for the feedrate override pot in an M400 console or M39 hand pendant.
