MS 7309 as replacement for MS 7142 Motherboard

Post by Sportbikeryder »

Unit is a Uniconsole-2 CNC 10 linux with suspected motherboard issue.

Is MS 7309 a suitable replacement for MS 7142 motherboard?

It should be suitable. They were used in factory builds for a short period in 2008.

According to TB218, v2.6 or newer software (e.g. v2.72) is needed, and a compact flash drive smaller than 4GB (i.e. 2GB).

Thanks for the response. I am running Linux 2.61 and CNC 10 Mill 2.63, and the CF card is smaller than 4gb. I'm now not certain it is a MB issue as I was able to manually start it by shorting the power wires (I may just install a physical power button on the backside of the console.). Same issue happened not extremely long ago and was a dead MB battery. Cold be the case again I suppose, however the first one seemed to last 10 years (machine is an E320 head porting machine, 2008 install. Since parts such as motherboards are obviously no longer in production, I want to have a backup available on the shelf for the "just in case" future.
