Was gifted a haas VF1, oak or all in one?

Post by Nickles.charles »

Hello everyone,
I was recently gifted a haas vf1 from I friend I bought some machines from. It has a few boards missing so it’ll need a retrofit. I’ve done an acorn lathe retrofit so this is not my first retrofit.

It’s a 91 haas, and I’m still playing around with which board I want to use, all in one vs the oak board. I would like to go full out for this one and set it up for 5 axis work.

For those of you who have done something like this, which board did you use and why? Would you do it differently now that you have done it? For those who have done haas retrofits was there anything you wish you had known before you did the retrofit or were there certain things that were challenging?

Thanks for reading and I’m looking forward to your comments.

Different Haas machines appear to have used different servo drives and motors over the years. early ones used DC motors, later used AC

What servo drives and motors does your machine have?

What model spindle drive (VFD) does your machine have?
