Tested each LED diode/resistor and they turn green/red; so those are working.

Testing results on x axis servo encoder which had no errors on system test.
+channels 6,7,8 to common 2 were 4vdc
- Channels 3,4,5 to common 2 were also 4vdc
,not the 0.4 to 0.8vdc you mentioned it should have been.

6-3= 0.1v
7-4 = 0.1v
8-5 = 0.1v

I also tested channels while rotating x axis with same 0.1vdc.

Z axis test were similar except i got about 3vdc to common on all channels. This axis also had no faults on system test.

Any thoughts on the above results? Im still at a loss…
I am waiting on another db9 extension to come in in order to test going to the cnc12 controller instead of using 5v dc power.

No.

Given the above measurements, I know of no way that the encoder could work, and not trigger "412 ... differential error".

Ok. Thanks for looking. It has to be some simple error on my part. My X and Z axis had no errors on it and thats what im testing according to the instructions to confirm the test procedures and point of reference. If the other LED are not lighting up when connected, it indicates as you said bad LEDs or wiring. LED tested good with 5vdc, but they arent getting voltage. Which possibly indicates bad encoders; that however is inconsistent with system test and no error codes. Wrong LED wiring then; i will double check my wires again. I wonder if I shorted the testing adapter or worse, the encoder.

5vdc power supply must have had issues.

I hooked up a DB9 extension to the centroid board and it is now working as it should. All the LED lights are on and behaving as the instructions say.

With the Y axis encoder plugged in, im am not getting the intermittent marker pulse light on the Z channel, which is consistent with what I was seeing on cnc software.

Voltages measure:
6/3= 2.6v
7/4= 2.6v
5/8= 2.5v

4/2= 0.3v and 2.8v while turning
5/2= 0.3v and 2.8v while turning
3/2= 2.8v stays constant while turning no marker pulse flash.

I can see the marker pulse on the LED on the X axis I plugged in to compare.

What are your thoughts on these numbers?
What so you suggest to do to fix the lack of marker pulse?
Thanks

It looks like it is just a faulty encoder, which will need to be replaced if you want it to work correctly.

If you can live with some variation in your homed position on the Y axis, you could just change "M92/Y" to "M92/Y L1" in your cncm.hom file. That will stop immediately when it clears the switch, and not bother searching for the index pulse.

I see. I will do that reprogram just to get going until I replace the encoder. Will the reprogram allow for system setup to complete? Thanks

No, the System Test will not run to a successful completion unless the encoder index pulse works.

Failure to complete the System Test has absolutely no consequences except that the "control installation is not complete" message appears on the screen prior to homing.
