This is a training machine I built for students running on mach3. Replacing the controller to oak amd servo motors compatible with oak, is it feasible to upgrade this machine with cnc12 and Oak?
Thanks.

Yes.
You would probably need a larger enclosure.
You will need an OpticDirect board to interface to the 5th axis (the first four axis interfaces are built into Oak).
If you want to run simultaneous 5-axis toolpaths, you will need the "Contouring" version of CNC12 (CNC12-C), which costs extra and requires that you submit export-compliance paperwork.
Absent the Contouring software, you can still control five axes, you just cannot move them all simultaneously.

Re: Oak for 5 Axis Machine
Hello. we are working on a new cnc controller board that would be ideal for this machine called the "AcornSix" if you can wait a while the AcornSix would be the cost effective way to go for this machine.

Re: Oak for 5 Axis Machine
Hi, I'm designin diy 5-axis (simultanius) router. Im planning to use closed loop stepper motors. When is this AcornSix board ready? Can you tell us some specs for it?
