VCP Not working < got it working, resolved>

Post by Code-man »

I purchased a Milltronics Partner with a centroid allin1 conversion last April that has been working great but I added a touch screen monitor to it. I have been having problems getting the side vcp working. I am looking for some help. I have version CNC12-D Mill v4.12. I am thinking that I have to update to a newer version to support the vcp. I also cannot find the wizard to turn it on.

there is no wizard in CNC12 for Oak and Allin1DC.
latest software is here at the bottom of this page.

Is there a video that show how to download the latest software and restore it using a report? I just don't want to lose all the settings for the cnc.

I downloaded v4.14 and restored my latest report. I am having the same problems with the vcp not working. I don't have the pro license. Do I need a pro license for v4.20?

You do not need a Pro license to use the VCP.

You will need a Pro license for many other features with v4.20.

Regarding the VCP:
1) You have P219 set to 1. That is good.
2) You have a 1920 x 1080 monitor. That is good.

The next likely suspect is that somehow Windows has decided to run in "Tablet Mode", and so is running the VCP in the center of the screen, behind CNC12. Windows has an unfortunate habit of doing that when provided with a touch screen. Locate the Windows Settings page that applies to "Tablet" computers, and tell it you never want to run in Tablet Mode.

I changed the setting to never run tablet mode. The vcp starts when I open centroid and is on the right side of the screen. The only buttons that work on the vcp are the vcp options, push to free and the x to close it. The touch screen works good on the centroid side setting up jobs but just not the vcp.

I thought about buying the xkeys 24 and going that way but unsure if I will have the same problems or not. I just feel like I am missing some files for the vcp.

You will need to install a PLC program that supports the VCP. The one you are using, from ca. 2016, does not.

The Centroid standard Allin1DC mill PLC program that came with the v4.20 installer would work.

i.e. dont' use "restore report" from old version to new version of CNC12. use the PLC program that comes with the CNC12 v4.20 that is designed to work with the v4.20 VCP.
