I agree with Marty, try feeding single phase to that converter and see what happens.

Looks like it to me I think Marty and myself were looking at the amperage on the label and it says 0.45, so I am confused. 45 amps would be about correct.
As for the existing VFD, you really need to trace out the power wires to it to know where the line input is.
I think it is just my blocking software that maybe kills those Amazon links.
Is this thread going to turn into 400 pages like the mill?

The VFD is labeled UNDER the wires. Line side is usually LEFT side. What does the label say?

Yeah, I get that Marty. There are three wires existing (for 3 phase), connected to the left side of the VFD, clearly labeled 1, 2 and 3. I will be attaching two wires (single phase) to test the VFD. I am asking if those two wires go on 1 and 2 as opposed to 2 and 3 or 1 and 3. You aren't going to damage it.
Remove the existing cabinet wires first.
Plug it in.
Watch the display.
Search the model number and download the manual so you can interpret the code on the display.

The 1/10hp label is for the separate cooling fan on the spindle motor. There should be another data plate on the cast iron portion of the motor for the actual spindle drive.

Mark, it should be really easy to trace which wires go to the motor, then you know the other group of 3 heavy conductors is the power in. I do see "IN" showing in the picture on the left connectors. That may say INPUT ?
It doesn't matter which of the set of 3 inputs you connect power to. Just connect to the first 2 that strike your fancy.

Once again, more confused than when I started.
I still can't find a label on the spindle motor without dismantling the cabinet. If it becomes necessary, I'll do that.
I also can't find anything identifying on the spindle drive to find a manual. I used Marty's info above to at least get started. I disconnected the existing incoming power lines and connected the spindle drive to single phase 220. The drive lit up just like it did with 3 phase power, errors shown in the pics. The manual that Marty supplied me indicated that the internal fuse was blown, which it was. Troubleshooting led me to check the motor wiring. It looks to me like they are shorted (see pics T1 to T2, T2 to T3, and T1 to T3) but I thought that there had to be at least some continuity for the motor to run. The third step is to check the power transistors, which I have no way to do, so if you think it's worthwhile, I may just send the whole thing to TIE to at least get tested. Those fuses ain't cheap, either. I thought I'd get a couple just to play with, hoping maybe it was just a fluke. The price changed my mind.
The motor seems to turn freely, by turning the chuck, anyhow. I can't see inside without dismantling anything.
