ALLIN1DC Motion Controller and Brushless DC Servos?

Post by albatross »

Does the ALLIN1DC Motion Controller work with BRUSHLESS DC servos??? The documentation clearly states Brush type DC but makes no mention of Brushless DC. Does this mean that my Baldor 557-676-92 Brushless DC servos are incompatible???

There is some confusion as to what makes a DC servo, DC brush-less servo and AC servo. Without getting into the technical specifics the ALLIN1DC should be able to handle DC "brushed" servos up to 40 in-lb /4.52 NM, 180V, 15 amps. A lot of DC servos simply say "DC Servomotor", and this usually implies a DC brushed servo. The ALLIN1DC would be the setup to use with these. For everything else our MPU11/GPIO4D w/ AC/DC drives can handle both DC, DC Brushed, and AC servos up to 4kw. If your unsure of what type of servo you have or have any questions, send us a picture of the servo to sales@ajaxcnc.com and we can get it straitened out.
